Hailing from the great city of East St. Louis, now residing in Texas, Dr. Eboni January is a board-certified physician/surgeon, author, health and educational coach specializing in improving health disparities, advocacy, preventative medicine, weight loss, mentorship, and fitness. She received her medical degree from the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Licensed in 14 states, Dr. January is an appointed Department of Health & Senior Services council member and an Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes Hub member. She is also a corporate trainer for delivering culturally competent care and Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and is a key principal investigator for fibroid and endometriosis clinical trials.
A multi-dynamic business professional, Dr. Eboni January has launched several businesses under her patient-inspired Boss-ish Lifestyle brand. This includes educational and preventative health coaching, supplements, and fitness services focused on changing an individual's mindset to achieve favorable results. Along with her love for health and coaching, she has an ever-present passion for youth success coaching. Personally, Dr. January has worked with youth and young adults for over 10 years, contributing more than $50,000 in scholarship funds. Passionate about provoking change, she authored and published the self-help book Educational Athlete: "Why Every Successful Student Needs a Coach" to help students and their parents navigate academic and professional success despite adversity. From elementary school through graduate school, Dr. Eboni January reveals life hacks in the book to turn adversity into triumph. Dr. January has spoken at over 30 schools and 20 corporations and coached over 250 students, 1200 corporate staff, and numerous business owners. One of her biggest accomplishments thus far is her 2015 childhood obesity campaign she spearheaded alongside her fellow East St. Louisian Olympic gold medalist, Jackie Joyner Kersee. Together, they were able to impact over 20,000 families nationally. Her dedication to the field garnered Dr. January the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from President Obama.
