Dr. Elbert's remarkable journey through the realm of college health and wellness has evolved and expanded, culminating in her current role as the Chief Health Equity Officer for Columbus Public Health (CPH). With an unwavering commitment to the betterment of student well-being and success, she has now taken her expertise and passion to address critical public health issues in the broader community.

After dedicating 18+ years of her life to higher education, Dr. Elbert has seamlessly transitioned to her new role, where her extensive background in health education, leadership development, and public health administration has positioned her as a trailblazing figure in the fight for health equity and social justice.

As the Division Administrator for the Center for Public Health Innovation, Dr. Elbert is at the forefront of addressing the pressing issue of health disparities. Dr. Elbert's work at the Center is dedicated to reducing disparities and increasing the life expectancy of Columbus residents, all while enhancing their overall quality of life.

Her commitment to championing health equity remains steadfast, as she now directs her efforts towards ensuring that every resident, regardless of their background or circumstances, has equitable access to quality healthcare services.

Dr. Elbert's proficiency in policy review and development has also found new relevance in her role at CPH. She continues to play a pivotal role in shaping policies that align with best practices in public health theory and practice, ensuring that the rights and well-being of Columbus residents are central to institutional decision-making.

Furthermore, her expertise in course development, assessment, strategic planning, project management, program planning, implementation, and evaluation has proven invaluable in the design and execution of impactful public health initiatives. Dr. Elbert's ability to create educational experiences that drive positive change has extended to the entire Columbus community.

In her ongoing advocacy for historically marginalized and minoritized individuals, Dr. Elbert's work now encompasses a wider range of challenges faced by the community. Her solutions, rooted in public health administration and education, continue to empower and uplift those who need them most.

Dr. Elbert's personal journey as a first-generation college student continues to drive her passion for helping others achieve their goals. Her mentorship and coaching, include aspiring leaders within various fields.
