Bio #1

Having grow up in rural Vermont, Crystal Egli has always been an avid outdoor recreator. She grew up hiking, biking, camping, boating and both water and snow skiing. After attending film school at Emerson College, she pursued a career in the film industry in Los Angeles. It only took two weeks to realize that wasn't the place for her and ten more years to leave. Crystal ended up moving to Colorado and working for Colorado Parks and Wildlife as a videographer and a few years ago coworkers convinced her to take up hunting. Not only is she now an enthusiastic hunter, Crystal has become a Hunter Education Instructor as well as a mentor to a novice young woman.

In 2019, the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) awarded Crystal the Stephen Kellert award for "outstanding service in advancing connections between humans and the natural world to all people in a diverse and inclusive manner".

In 2020, Crystal left Colorado Parks and Wildlife to pursue working on Inclusive Journeys full time as well as embark on a tandem career as a Diversity, Equity and Inclusivity consultant, trainer and keynote speaker.

Bio #2

Crystal Egli’s speaking career began after achieving unexpected success from the YouTube series My First Big Game Hunt. This 16 part “how-to-hunt” series featured Egli, a female, millennial of color who was terrified of firearms, spending well over a year learning how to hunt big game. The overnight success of the series has been attributed to how Egli presents herself—vulnerable, silly, and unapologetically unskilled—a stark contrast when compared with the typical “how-to-hunt” YouTuber. Egli won a national award from the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies for this series, and was quickly sought after by other major conservation organizations to deliver presentations and plenary speeches on the topic of Diversity and Inclusion in Hunting, as well as the outdoors as a whole.

Testimonials (1)
  • I was pleased to hire Crystal Egli well before becoming her business partner, when I contracted her to be the keynote speaker at the 2019 annual SUMMIT For Action. I was so impressed with Crystal's ability to connect to the audience and take everyone on an emotional journey. The Summit for Action model brings together a variety of community leaders and key stakeholders to develop shared understanding around the steps needed to inspire and drive social change around Equity, Accessibility and Inclusion issues, which naturally lends to an incredibly diverse audience. This is where Crystal shines-- no matter who you are or the background you come from, she finds a way to connect to every single person in the room. Her impact lasted long after the conclusion of the Summit, something which not only I can attest to, but also the dozens of others who wrote in afterward to submit their praise as well.
