Bio

Greta McClain is an innovative, motivated, and adaptable professional with a proven track record of success in diverse fields. She began her career as a Vanderbilt University Police dispatcher and campus police officer before joining the Metro Nashville Police Department. Her determination, ability, and confidence earned her the respect of supervisors and her peers. While serving as a patrol officer, she she trained new officers when their training officer was unavailable. After being promoted to the Master Patrol position, she trained officers, and was often called upon to serve as an acting Sergeant. After eight years with the department, she became a detective in the adult sexual assault unit as a detective.

Upon leaving law enforcement, she served as the victims of crime coordinator for the Tennessee Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence. Her creativity enabled her to create eye-catching and informative brochures and pamphlets for service providers, law enforcement, and the community. Her knowledge, research, and writing skills led to a request to write a new Sexual Assault Investigation training curriculum and develop and write an Elder Abuse curriculum. Greta's energetic personality and innovative training skills provided her with opportunities to train a diverse array of professionals. During her time as an outreach coordinator and support group facilitator with the YWCA Domestic Violence Center, her creativity and relatability allowed her to gain the trust and confidence of unhoused women, lesbian women, and members of the community.

As a community organizer, advocate founder, and executive director of Silent No Longer Tennessee, she quickly learned to embrace innovative ideas and think outside the box. Her adaptability and ingenuity are readily apparent as she designs and implements programs that foster positive experiences for stakeholders, marginalized individuals, service providers, and the broader community. Greta has a gift for storytelling, fearlessly sharing her personal story of sexual assault in hopes it will help others find hope, healing, and understanding. Greta's years of experience and expertise allow her to inform and inspire others through informational and motivational speaking engagements in a wide array of environments; whether it's addressing a church congregation, speaking at vigils, rallies, workshops, or conferences, she shares her insights with passion and purpose, contributing to the collective empowerment and education of those she engages with.

I am a determined, confident woman who is not afraid to embrace innovative ideas. I utilize my adaptability and creative skills to produce programs that provide positive experiences for stakeholders, marginalized individuals, service providers and the community at large.
