  • What can I say about Pete? He personifies human connection. Pete was a key speaker at our SCHC palliative care conference this past March 2023. Like the famous quote from the movie 'Jerry McGuire' Pete "had us at hello". From the moment he walked on the stage to the moment he walked off (we didn't want him to leave) he told the story of human connection and how desperately that is needed for us all - the human race - to survive. He spoke to a riveted audience of palliative care practitioners and volunteers who understand what connectedness means to someone living with a life threatening illness. This is the most precious gift a dying person can give and receive. But what was tangible in the room that day - the first in-person conference since the pandemic started - was the Oprah "ah ha" moment we had when we realized we all need connectedness - not just our clients and families. Pete left us with a strong call to action to connect with others - strangers or someone we hadn't connected with in ages. That moment of connection could make a huge difference in someone's life. Thank-you Pete for sharing your message and your gift! If you haven't booked Pete to speak at your event do it now! You won't regret it!

  • Incredible, would be an understatement. I have never seen a presenter energize, captivate and inspire an audience like Pete (and I have seen a lot of presentations!). His ability to connect with any size crowd and communicate in a charismatic yet genuine way is amazing. Whether it is to students, business professionals, or fortunate 500 CEOS, Pete leaves the audience wanting more and inspired to make a difference. I would HIGHLY recommend Pete for any speaking engagement that aims to inform an audience on what social health is about, why human connection is vital to our happiness, and most importantly to learn about we can do to make a difference. He inspires change and will give the audience the roadmap to make it happen.

  • "As part of the activation team for the Culinary Federation "Reset & Reconnect' National Conference, it was a treat to work with Pete as our emcee and keynote speaker. As an emcee, Pete was able to actively engage in whatever content was being presented, while keeping us on schedule and being aware of all the various moving parts. He took care and precision with introductions, partner acknowledgements, and delegate interactions. He showed great flexibility and was a huge team player in all elements of his hosting duties. As a speaker, Pete was very easy to connect with. His message comes naturally because he is very personable and genuinely passionate about human connection. He truly means every word, and so it's easy to listen to and engage with."

  • Pete was our keynote speaker at our Mental Health Awareness week at Coke Canada in May 2021. In the middle of the pandemic, with a lot of our employees working from home, Pete and the Genwell Project's key messages around 'human connection' really resonated with our employees. We received very positive feedback on Pete's presentation style, the content and his calls to action - easy next steps people can take everyday to improve their mental health. Pete was very effective in engaging our employees to take action for themselves! Thank you Pete!

  • Thank you so much to Pete and Dr. Steve for their informative and engaging talk on Building a Culture of Social and Mental Health. It really helped put into words what so many of us have been feeling over the past couple of years. They provided our staff with much needed recognition that in our work we are always focused on helping others while reminding us of the importance of looking out for each other through check ins, conversation and connection. The message from Pete and Dr. Steve will help to make this a regular part of our workplace culture. We will continue to serve our clients proudly and passionately while also making an ongoing investment in our staff because without them, we couldn’t do the vital work we do in the community.

  • Pete came to talk to all of us in Prince Edward County about the necessity of social connection at ThrivePEC.ca event. He closed our day with a heartfelt reminder that we are not isolated and alone, even when we truly believe we might be. Prior to the talk, he rescued me when I literally fell off the edge of the bench at lunch! So began our social connection - with Pete's instant caring, compassion, and humour. I knew I'd met a real deal friend having had no knowledge of his upcoming talk. It is crucial for each of us, following the pandemic especially, to engage in thoughtful, meaningful and frequent connections with others, however we can. We won't feel healthy trying to stay "distant" for the good of our health. His talk brought the challenge to each of us, "what can you do that feels right for your own well-being that puts you in touch with others?" Personal contact is crucial to our well-being, and so much of that has been lost these last few years. He reminded us of the many ways quality time may be spent with another person. And if they say no the first offering, keep trying. That's just what folks needed to hear. As a soul pathworking and creative growth practitioner, I've worked with many clients who've been surrounded by a group or community and still feel very much alone, at the deepest level, whether they described themselves as introvert or extrovert. I know Pete and I will have many conversations to come, because quality connection matters at all levels. So glad to have met you Pete!

  • Social connection is what I believe to be the MOST underrated and impactful skill that we all can cultivate to optimize our health and happiness. Pete's way of delivering the science and stats to an audience is captivating and digestible. He does so with ease, making it fun and as a result, the crowd was incredibly engaged. Not only is Pete an inspiring speaker, but his down to earth approach makes actionable steps approachable, even for the most introverted of us. A genuine pleasure to work with him and the GenWell team!

  • Pete is an excellent Human Being and his presentation deeply impacted me and others at our National Team Meeting! Two plus years of the global pandemic, working from home and ever-increasing workloads have deeply impacted our social health. The important connection our social health has on our physical and mental health cannot be overstated. Pete approached the topic with research that I think was shocking for most. However, the realization of how simple it can be, if we make the effort, to boast our own and others social health was encouraging! I highly recommend Pete’s message; it is timeless and important if we are to thrive!
