"I Love My Organization’s HR Policies,” said no one

Whether they call them "policies," "terms and conditions," or simply "guidelines," in many offices the HR rules sound like they were written by angry parents talking to naughty children. Getting engagement under those conditions is an uphill battle. Compliance will improve when your rules sound positive and helpful. In this eye-opening session, Lewis shows you how to change the conversation around HR rules in your organization.

Takeaways:
1. Policies and compliance done right are a collaborative effort, not a power struggle

2. The wording of an organization's policies can unintentionally reveal its internal problems
3. We need to move away from the Parent–Child rule-making dynamic

Drafting Effect HR Policies
Full day
(View workshop agenda)

To regulate employee behaviour, organizations produce HR Policies setting out their rules. Too often, though, these documents are so long and confusing that no one reads them, and they are often written in a way that sounds like angry parents yelling at naughty children. Getting compliance under these conditions is an uphill battle.
