Kionte Storey is a former United States Marine Corps serviceman who enlisted right after high school, specializing in basic infantry rifleman training. Upon completing boot camp in 2007 and the School of Infantry, he was stationed in twenty-nine palms, CA, serving under 3rd Battalion 7th Marines. During his time with 3/7, Kionte embarked on two deployments, one to Haditha, Iraq, and later to Sangin, Afghanistan.
In 2010, Kionte suffered an injury overseas in Afghanistan while on a foot mobile patrol, where an Improvised Explosive Device (I.E.D) was triggered, resulting in the amputation of his right leg below the knee, along with other sustained injuries. After recovering and acquiring his prothetic, he found solace and healing through various outlets, primarily by engaging in physical activities and challenging himself mentally.
Kionte's recovery journey was marked by active participation in sports, becoming a successful Paralympic Athlete, and achieving remarkable feats, including summiting two of the seven tallest mountains in the world, Mt. Vinson and Mt. Kilimanjaro. Additionally, he completed two marathons. However, his most fulfilling pursuit has been making a positive impact on others' lives through his actions and by sharing his inspiring story. Kionte strives to motivate and inspire others while continually working on becoming the best version of himself.
