This Might Get Awkward - Real Stories of Vulnerable Leadership That Worked

Forget perfection in leadership. In this high-energy, story-packed keynote, award-winning news manager and former comedy writer Jason Reid shows how real leadership starts with something uncomfortable: vulnerability.

Drawing from his own journey managing chronic illness while leading top-performing teams, Jason reveals how honesty, humility, and even a little awkwardness can unlock trust, drive innovation, and double productivity.

You’ll hear the hilarious (and humbling) story of how a “stupid idea” won a national award, why fixing a 10-cent screw beat weeks of HR meetings, and how being honest about his health issues more than doubled productivity and helped his organization win prestigious journalism awards for the first time in it's history.

Equal parts funny, raw, and deeply insightful, this keynote is for anyone ready to ditch the leadership mask and build teams fueled by trust, not fear.

Embracing Invisible Disabilities in the Workplace

One in three working-age adults now have an invisible disability and that number is expected to grow with the long-term impacts of COVID-19. Experience has shown that people with invisible disabilities can still perform at a high level if given the right environment. Jason Reid shares decades of real-life insight into what it is like to work with an invisible disability, as well as how to manage and accommodate others who have the same challenges.

Wired for Success: Leading Neurodiverse Teams to Exceptional Results

From ADHD and learning differences to autism and beyond, neurodivergence is an everyday reality in the workplace.

Yet, because these traits are often invisible, many organizations struggle to recognize, discuss, and accommodate the needs of their neurodiverse teams.Building a workplace that embraces neuroinclusion isn’t just about compliance—it’s about unlocking productivity, innovation, and engagement by fostering an environment where all employees can thrive.

With a dynamic blend of expertise, storytelling, and practical strategies, Jason Reid and Kristin Light help organizations navigate neurodiversity with confidence. Their engaging, actionable approach provides a roadmap for fostering inclusion and optimizing workplace culture.

Embracing Neurodiversity in the Workplace

Approximately twenty percent of the workforce is neurodivergent. Whether it’s ADHD, learning differences, the autism spectrum, or other characteristics, neurodiversity has become a key part of developing an inclusive workplace.

Studies show that when neurodivergent workers feel enabled, they are up to 30% more productive than their neuro-typical colleagues. However, when forced into a one-size-fits-all workplace that does not accommodate their needs, neurodivergent people often experience self-doubt, burnout, and mental health issues.

How do leaders and organizations navigate this new and seemingly complicated landscape?

Theatrical Keynote: "Invisible Differences - Navigating the Last Mile from Inclusion to Belonging"

In the past five years, organizations have made significant strides in embracing diversity and inclusion.

Now, Jason Reid and Kristin Light invite you to explore the final frontier of inclusion through the lens of invisible disabilities, including chronic illness, mental health, and neurodivergence. With humor and insight, they take audiences on an engaging journey to understand the challenges and opportunities in truly creating a culture of belonging.

Through a series of cleverly irreverent and hilarious sketches, woven together with personal stories and thought-provoking insights, Jason and Kristin celebrate the progress we’ve made in our DEIB journey. At the same time, they shine a light on the persistent obstacles to true belonging, including:

• The hiring process
• Workplace promotions and leadership culture
• Communications and relationships

Mastering Belonging & Psychological Safety in the Workplace

Harnessing diversity is much more than just hiring people of different backgrounds and abilities. It's about everyone in the organization feeling empowered knowing they have the permission to learn and make mistakes, as well as speak up - even when it goes against the conventional wisdom of the organization.

Despite best intentions, the pervasive nature of unconscious bias can sometimes make employees feel that organizations are hostile to them or their ideas.

Fostering psychological safety isn't a DEI fad, it's simply the cornerstone of good leadership.

In this relatable, engaging, and highly practical program, workplace inclusion speaker Jason Reid and psychological safety expert Zoe Mitchell will show you strategies to help your organization foster belonging, reduce turnover, and create a highly engaged and innovative workforce.

A Manager’s Guide to Conversations Around Employee Mental Health and Mental Illness

More than 18% of workers in the US reported a mental illness and 71% of adults reported at least one symptom of stress. In Canada, half a million people miss work weekly due to mental health issues. In this context, it has become incredibly important for managers and team leaders to understand how to have effective conversations with employees around mental health issues.

Invisible disability expert Jason Reid is joined by psychologist Dr. Marjorie Aunos as they discuss the best ways to navigate sensitive conversations and make decisions around mental health in the workplace while answering the most common but challenging questions.
