Bio

Diamond is a product designer who believes better UX makes the world a better place. She is currently a product designer at Facebook, focused on shipping meaningful products in News Feed Integrity. Before Facebook, Diamond worked at Logitech as Visual UX designer, leading shipped products such as Circle, Harmony, Logitech Gaming Software and many more.

Originally from Hong Kong, Diamond graduated with a BFA in Industrial Design from California College of the Arts, San Francisco. Throughout her career, Diamond also has solid experience on coaching and mentoring students and entry level professional from diverse background.

When she is not behind the computer, she is usually chilling with her dogs Truffle and Waffle. She also dreams to run her own animal sanctuary one day.

Design with your identity

Being a minority female in Silicon Valley is never an easy path. Throughout my career I have been through stages and struggles to find my voice. In this session, I will share my journey and tips around navigating through these issues and more importantly how to translate your identity to your work. This session is also intended to raise awareness about these unconscious bias and hope to create empathy in the workplace.

Design with Integrity

It is no secret that Facebook has experienced some controversial moments in the past year. Everything has only motivates us to bring better products to better our community. As a designer at News Feed Integrity, I have worked on multiple meaningful products in the past year. Focusing on creating a safe and free space for people to have meaningful interactions, I am going to share my process on working in News Feed Integrity.

Designers vs Engineers

It's an urban myth that there is an ongoing war between designers and engineers. One thing I learned from Facebook is when put in the right effort, designers and engineers can work closely and effectively together. This session I am going to go over my process to work with Engineers from a Designer perspective.
