Bio

Dr. Bueschgen received his BA in anthropology from Arizona State University and MA in biological anthropology from the University of South Carolina before completing his DMD at the Medical University of South Carolina in 2003. He has been analyzing skeletal and dental remains in both archaeological and forensic contexts from around the world for nearly 25 years and has written on topics ranging from paleopathology, genetic traits of teeth, intentional tooth modification, and forensic odontology. Dr. Bueschgen currently practices general dentistry in Charleston, SC and is the forensic odontologist for the Charleston County Coroner’s Office and a forensic odontology consultant for coroner’s statewide..
