I am a writer and speaker on all things related to culture, history and politics. I was born and raised in Johannesburg, and lived there for the first three and a half decades of my life.
A lifelong enthusiast of cinema, literature and music, I enrolled at AFDA Johannesburg in 2003 and completed my BA there in 2005. As I began my career in television, I found myself drawn to print journalism, and I worked in that field for several years, first as an assistant editor at Classicfeel Magazine, then as the editor of Screen Africa Magazine. I am now a freelance content creator. During my work in publishing, I also continued my studies by pursuing a second degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
I live in South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal Province with my wife and son.
While I have worked on projects of all kinds, from digital marketing to biographies, my primary professional interests are those of a cultural critic and commentator, student of history, and enthusiast of most forms of artistic expression.
I have recently entered into the world of cultural and political commentary through my YouTube channel and podcasts.
