Bio

Since I began writing software at the age of 12, I have loved using big data to solve big problems. Throughout my career, I have focused on building companies that solve real problems in new and innovative ways. The common themes across all businesses/solutions have been technology, big data, machine learning and predictive analytics.

I started Cerkl five years ago with one simple mission - using artificial intelligence to break through the digital noise and better curate & deliver meaningful content across email, web, and mobile.

Having spent over five years studying how real engagement works, I love sharing how to really engage your audience - whether that be employees, alumni, members, volunteers, or parents - the same principles apply. You need to save your audience time and deliver real value.

I live in Madeira, Ohio (outside of Cincinnati) with my two daughters where I also have the pleasure of serving as the VP of the Madeira Board of Education. For more info or to connect: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tkamil

Engaging a 21st Century Audience

Feeling like it's increasingly difficult to meaningfully engage your audience? In this talk, you'll learn exactly why you're feeling that way (you're justified), what savvy brands are doing about it and 2 things you must start doing to engage a 21st century audience.

How Artificial Intelligence Can Increase Employee Engagement AND Save Your Staff Time

- Implementing an internal communications engine that automatically delivers personalized communication to the right team member at the right time - regardless of shift or role.

- Improving retention through an understanding of each employee’s current level of engagement.

- Reclaiming 40 hours a month of your team’s time spent by reallocating resources spent on making newsletters toward tasks that move the needle in truly impacting employee engagement.

- Developing programming based on interest data to deliver fulfilling, skills-building experiences.

- Promoting cross-team collaboration with informative communications that highlight team member contributions across the organization.

Get S#*t Done Like a Startup

Startups are notorious for three things: 1. innovation, 2. amazingly productive teams and 3. beer. We're going to focus on #2 with a dash of #1. After 20 years and 5 companies, I've learned a thing or two about what really motivates people (hint: it's not just beer). In this session, I'll be sharing my favorite stories and top tips/lessons/strategies for how you can get the most out of your team.

  • What Tarek does exceptionally well from the front of a room is: he puts himself in your seat. In your shoes. While he may be speaking to 50 or 100 or 300 people, you still get the sense that he's looking at you and trying to solve your problem or give you specific information or introduce a new idea to and for you. When you leave the room, you say to yourself "I feel like I know that guy". Which means you probably don't leave until you go and shake his hand. Not many people can pull that off - but Tarek is one who can and does.

  • Most conference speakers have a personal agenda: to sell more products and services. They fall in love with their offerings. They lack any audience connection, and stick to their "script." Tarek operates differently--and he is a breath of fresh air. When Tarek spoke at our annual CMOs Leading Innovation Conference (www.cmoclic.com), he prepared an actual case study from one of our participants in advance. When he shared the example, our CMO audience was completely riveted. Tarek took the time to ask questions and provoke their established beliefs around marketing technology and personalization. He not only offered some compelling and contemporary research on audience engagement--he also provided strategies that his actual customers are successfully applying. If your conference is designed to be intimate, informative, and engaging, hire Tarek!

  • Tarek Kamil is an amazing speaker. Whether in a one-to-one conversation, small group, or large group, Tarek’s ability to engage shines through clearly. Now running his fifth start-up company (after four successful exits), Tarek knows the pain, joy, fear, doubt, and exhilaration of starting a business from the ground up. His rapport with students is awesome. Tarek is not a stuffed shirt, corporate CEO type. His has an innate ability to connect directly and meaningfully with his audience. His passion for start-ups, AI, higher education, and communication is infectious and thought-provoking. I’ve had the privilege of serving on a panel discussion with Tarek. He consistently provides insightful answers to challenging questions. He is supportive of his colleagues and knows how to foster an engaging conversation. If you are looking for a speaker to motivate your organization, or begin an important conversation about the future, Tarek is a great choice. • Engaging. Passionate. Authentic. Witty. Four words I would use to describe Tarek's speaking style. I recently invited Tarek to speak at a conference on strategy and innovation and he did not disappoint! The attendees loved his talk, "Get S#*! Done Like a Startup". It was the perfect blend of humor, storytelling and practical advice. Easily one of the best talks of the conference. I'd highly recommend Tarek for speaking engagements on a wide-range of topics... entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy, culture, golf and of course, AI!
