I, Dr. Tameika Lawrence PhD will be able to help you get back on track whether your feeling stressed, depressed, confused, anxious, lonely or in need of a little direction. I am a scholar-practitioner in the field of counseling psychology with training in personality, cognitive assessment, communication, interpersonal relationships, individual, couples counseling, and psych-evaluations in various settings. I have provided individual and group counseling for over 15 years to a client population that is diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, sexual and gender orientation; religion and socioeconomic status. I played various positions in outpatient and inpatient settings, where there’s broad range of diagnoses presenting problems and level of acuity.

My experiences have strongly amplified my deep interest in emotional life, and I pride myself in providing a fostering environment that elicits personal growth. I walk with an agenda of establishing personal power as I know the mindset influences behavior. Changes in behavior starts with thought whereas situational factors can change if one creates a new thought.

One of my strongest skills is assessing a person’s needs, identifying barriers then finding a way to take them to the next level. I embrace great energy, a solid knowledge of the psychology field and unflagging professionalism. I have successfully exceeded expectations in accomplishing lifetime goals in my early adulthood, which aided in the development of “Outgrow Comfort” model. The Outgrow Comfort model is a 6-step program that teaches individuals how to live for their passion by breaking free from comfort while embracing discomfort.

I hold a doctoral degree in counseling psychology and am a member of the Hudson Valley Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association. I remain an leading expert in understanding the correlation of achieving tendencies of fathers’ presence amongst African-American men during their childhood.
