Roy Gagaza is the president and CEO of Journey Wealth Management, LLC, where he leads a team focused on helping people prepare for retirement with steady, well-planned strategies. He entered the financial services field after many years as an officer in the U.S. Army, bringing a strong sense of duty and organization to his work. The company serves clients from offices in Manteca, California, and in Aiea and Honolulu, Hawaii, meeting with individuals and families seeking guidance on their financial futures.
Roy began his military career in the U.S. Army Reserve before moving to active duty as an Armor Officer, serving a total of 20 years. He became Airborne- and Ranger-qualified and led a tank platoon with the 1st Armored Division during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He later commanded a cavalry troop in South Korea and worked as an operations and training officer, helping units prepare for critical overseas deployments.
Roy Gagaza completed multiple combat deployments and received the Bronze Star for his service during both Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, reflecting consistent dedication under pressure. Midway through his time in uniform, he started preparing for a new chapter by drawing on his business marketing education and interest in financial education. While still on active duty, including a year-long deployment to Kuwait in 2004, he began meeting with clients, hosting educational seminars, and earning designations as a Certified Estate Planner and Registered Financial Consultant.
Roy retired from the Army in 2008 and moved fully into financial services, carrying forward his commitment to service, precise planning, and accountability. At Journey Wealth Management, he focuses on retirement planning, investment and wealth management, tax strategies, health care planning, and legacy and estate services. His work has been recognized through honors such as induction into the Advisors Excel Hall of Fame, repeated Advisors Excel Elite Advisor Awards, Security Benefit Elite Advisor Awards, and the Allianz Century Award for reaching a significant premium milestone.
Gagaza approaches every client relationship as a partnership built on trust, education, and realistic expectations, rather than quick decisions. He helps people think through what they want their post-career life to look like, then designs strategies to protect assets, build reliable income streams, and allow for changing goals over time. His military background shapes his calm, disciplined approach as he guides clients through transitions, uncertainty, and unexpected events, helping them stay focused on long-term plans.
Roy Gagaza remains active in his community and personal life, reflecting the same spirit of service that has guided his career. He works with local agencies, school districts, professional partners, and community groups to offer educational seminars for pre-retirees.
