Bio

I have been a background as a Respiratory Therapist for thirty years, specializing in trauma, neonatal intensive care,as well as staff and patient education. Since my mid-life career change to teaching seven years ago, I have developed a passion for my students, as well as educators that are in need of help. I pride myself on doing everything “outside the box,” and making learning environments high quality, setting high expectations, and having fun! I LOVE sharing my experiences and technology knowledge with other educators. I am happily married with two grown children, and an energetic grandson. I love woodworking, kayaking, and travel. One word to describe me would be, “trailblazer!”

President- SC Health Science Educators Association

Elected for three year term as President of HSEA. Represent members at the Department of Education, attend and lead quarterly meetings, oversee conference planning, changes in SC CTE standards and curriculum, and budget for organization.

SC HOSA Board of Directors

Currently serving a two year term on the Board, which will come to a close in June, 2020. Attend quarterly meetings to manage annual budget, leadership conferences, scholarships, and other business as necessary.
