Bio

Tamara Markova, PhD is a practicing psychologist and existential coach (ex-corporate M&A and lecturer at University of Amsterdam, Vrije Universiteit). She speaks on topics related to authentic self-leadership and happiness, integrating existential philosophy, practical psychology and coaching.

Tamara's talks are deep, perspective-giving and inspirational. She identifies as "an inspirer" rather than "an entertainer". Expect a talk combining philosophy and psychology, science and cases from practice, tips that a real psychologist would give a client, rather than all jokes and stories. Intense, moving and powerful rather than light and funny.

The scale of a personality is defined by the scale of questions this person ask themselves. Tamara's talk will leave people asking themselves the truly Big Questions with tips on how to find their unique Answers.

Life Satisfaction: Myths, Fads and Truths

What makes life worthwhile? The information is so confusing: should we chaise happiness or success, pleasure or meaning, efficiency or balance, productivity or presence, slow down or join the 5 o'clock morning club, yoga or HIIT? This talk debunks some myths, separates fads from years of research and clarifies what increases our Life Satisfaction at work and at home.

Self-Leadership

As any human being, a leader is a combination of several personality layers. Some are darker, some are lighter, some are mock-up, some are authentic. How do you lead from your Self - the most authentic, deepest, most valuable part of your personality? The talk is based on psychotherapy methods working with inner parts of the personality.

Happiness Beyond Stereotypes

There are so many stereotypes about happiness. Is it about "having" or about "being"? None of them in fact. Chasing wrong goals and somebody else's values is going to leave us opposite to happy - empty, lost and lonely. What is the 3rd option? Learn in this <1hr talk.

Cheaper than therapy: why reading books is an antidote to modern life

What if the smartest thing you could do for your brain costs nothing, fits in your bag, and isn’t another app?

In a time of cognitive overload, attention collapse, and wellness fatigue, books are making a quiet comeback. This talk dives into the latest research in neuroscience and psychology to reveal what reading really does to our brain, mental health, and intellectual capacity.

Why are scientists — not just poets — calling reading the most underrated tool for modern minds?

This isn’t about reading for fun. It’s about reading as a form of mental resistance, recovery, and reinvention. The aim is to inspire people to close their tabs, pick up a book and take their mind back.
