Reggie Selma

As a former CNN photojournalist I have traveled the world filming every United States president from Reagan to Obama. I will share a personal conversations, not only with these leaders, but with such iconic figures as Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and Mother Teresa.

I grew up in the segregated “Jim Crow” era of Birmingham Alabama.

But, through faith, and loving family, and a belief that those circumstances would not impede my future, I went on to become CNN’s first African-American cameraman in 1982.

I have shared these stories in Tokyo, London, Amsterdam, Ireland, and of course the USA.
