Osteopathic Doctor & Trainer

Author, Speaker, and Advocate for Osteopathic Medicine and REAL Osteopathic education. Dr. Cohn's goals are to increase awareness of and demand for true osteopathic healthcare and to foster a renaissance in osteopathic educatoin. His book, Osteopathy and the Zombie Apocalypse has been highly successful since 2012 at persuading young would-be MDs to not only join the ranks of osteopathic physicians, but to become providers of traditional osteopathic manual medicine. His work educating the public about osteopathy and pain treatment has helped more than 1.2 million people via HealthTap.com.

Through entertaining writing and speaking Dr. Cohn brings pressure to bear upon the osteopathic community, especially educational institutions, to return American Osteopathic Medicine to its most vital basics which have become lost over the last 40 years or more. He also makes more patients and premedical students aware of osteopathy, its principles and practices as they were envisioned by our predecessors: a melding of the best practices of all medicine with humanity, and the art and power of healing touch.

In 2020, post-graduate education of both MDs and DOs (Doctors of Osteopathy) will be fully merged. Dr. Cohn is taking this opportunity to finally bring enlightenment and understanding to the MD world with expectation that truly understanding the basics of Osteopathic Manipulation and Osteopathic Principles and Practice will help them become more sensitive to the needs of their patients, better listening, more patient-centered, and more open-minded healthcare providers.

Chronic Pain Contrarian

The best way to stop an Opioid Crisis: avoid the need for pain medications!

Recognized several times as a national authority in the field pain medicine, Dr. Cohn is an Author, Speaker, Advocate for Osteopathic Medicine, and a Practicing Clinician with answers to several of the most difficult questions in the field of Chronic Pain Medicine. As a practitioner of hands-on medicine, including osteopathic manipulation, prolotherapy/PRP and L-PIT, Dr. Cohn has helped many patients COMPLETELY HEAL FROM CHRONIC PAIN - including himself.

Certain to surprise many with his stories of chronic pain eradication in patients previously failed by mighty national institutions, his wit and obvious expertise will entertain and enlighten, enrage and cajole, while challenging the very bases of modern pain practice. He has a nasty habit of taking 'common wisdom' in Pain Medicine and making it recognizable for what it is ... fantasy misdirecting attention from the simple basic truth - or outlandish claim - underlying the entire field: 65-80% of chronic pain is curable.

Although diagnosis is the very foundation of being able to accurately apply treatment to resolve a health problem, doctors have become reliant upon technologies which are less capable of diagnosis than the human hand and mind. Pain Physicians, today, are less capable of the basics of diagnosis - taking medical histories and performing physical examinations - than in any generations past

Certain to engender disbelief, even ridicule, from many corners, Dr. Cohn is, never-the-less, an accomplished physician with a long track record of helping his patients heal from chronic pain, recognizing the shortcomings of the medical profession, and providing wisdom, education, and training which have the capacity to change the world of pain care.

Dr. Cohn's speechcraft, humor, and sincerity have a way of wedging open even the smallest crack of uncertainty regarding today's accepted methods of pain treatment. All it takes is an open mind willing to learn.

Comprehensive Integrative Pain Diagnostics and Treatment

A version exists for healthcare professionals.
A second version, less technical, but easily understandable, is available for general audiences.

Non-medical audiences will leave with a deep understanding of the choices the have when seeking care for health, especially for chronic pain.

Medical audiences will walk away with a deep understanding of the failures and fallacies of modern healthcare and the choices they can make to improve the system and the care they personally provide.

Osteopathic Manipulation (OMM/OMT) & Osteopathic Principles and Practice

Adaptable to premed, medical & osteopathic medical students, general audiences, executives, and healthcare professionals.

While knowledge of OMM and OPP will allow all of the above to make informed choices regarding their careers and healthcare choices, they will learn lessons they can immediately apply to their everyday lives, daily actions, and personal choices. Osteopathic principles and practice are not just medical terms; they are a philosophical choice for living a better, richer life.
