Matt Perelstein

Matt fell in love with the wonder and joy of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) before there was a word to describe it. His painful childhood inspired Matt to seek help. Once he realized that so many of his "issues" and "disorders" were merely a lack of right-brain emotional education, he immersed himself in EQ, for both personal and professional development. It is his belief that so many of our biggest social problems today -- violence, abuse, addictions, divorce, suicide, gangs, mass killings, most crime, much of mental health, often physical health, even war -- are significantly due to people (especially men) not knowing how to deal with their own thoughts and feelings. Matt now believes that is the civic responsibility of those of us who know EQ, to teach those who do not, so he has made Emotional Intelligence Education his life's work.
