Untapped Talent: The Power of Involving Your Team

In today's fiercely competitive business environment, attracting and retaining top talent is tough to do yet necessary for your company to succeed. So what sets you apart to attract the best and brightest? It’s how you involve your team.
In this session, we focus on the crucial role managers play in getting their teams involved and creating a workplace that fosters engagement, and retention. This enlightening session explores practical strategies on how you can take day-to-day actions to create a workplace where people want to join and stay.
We examine the following topics:
- the role a manager plays in creating a company’s culture and driving engagement
- actionable strategies to help teams become more involved in their work

Conquer Issues Without Sacrificing the Relationship

A common question leaders ask is "How do I address a performance concern without risking the working relationship?" It’s a careful balance and no one wants to see the other person feeling diminished, confused, or frustrated. In today’s competitive labour market, leaders can't afford to make these mistakes. Teams are counting on leaders to communicate with clarity and to actively support development.
In this session, attendees:
- explore how to approach a discussion that balances empathy with accountability
- learn how to speak candidly about obstacles and concerns while keeping the esteem and motivation of the other person intact
- discover how to involve the other person in creating next steps.
Using stories from real life examples, participants will walk away with concrete actions they can take to make their next discussion a productive one that builds the relationship and gets results.

From Debate to Dialogue: Conducting Effective Meetings

Do you feel bogged down by meetings? Are you struggling with getting others involved in meeting discussions? Leaders report spending at least 40% of their day in meetings and this has increased since the onset of remote and hybrid work. Facilitating meetings that are engaging and productive builds connection among team members and enables progress towards results. In this session, participants:
- explore a simple yet powerful model of behavior that helps them involve others
- consider a discussion format that increases focus and dialogue
- learn tools that help get things done without compromising relationships
Attendees walk away with actionable ideas they can implement in upcoming 1-1 or team meetings to take their discussions to the next level.
