Jeff has been in and around the healthcare industry his entire professional career. A Nationally Certified Emergency Medical Technician, Jeff has been an EMT for over 31 years providing patient care in both for-profit and nonprofit settings. Jeff holds an accounting degree from UAB. He spent 14 years working for Alabama’s largest health insurance company, conducting reimbursement audits for both private and governmental insurance. Jeff also worked for Alabama's most extensive hospital system, improving clinical trial reimbursements. He has vast experience dealing with the many players in our healthcare systems.
Jeff is himself a cancer survivor and understands how it feels to be in a patient's shoes. Additionally, his daughter was found to have a tumor at the age of 7 months. Her path to recovery took many twists and turns, including a misdiagnosis, major surgeries, chemotherapy treatments, proton radiation treatments, a stem cell transplant, more blood transfusions than he could count, and a temporary relocation 900+ miles away from home for her care. Through all these experiences, Jeff has seen healthcare's good, bad, and ugly. It's a unique path that sets him apart from other healthcare consultants.
Jeff holds a healthcare-concentrated Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and has broad-based experience in healthcare, program administration, value-based care, clinical trials, departmental costing, and auditing. Well-versed in public health policy and issues and keen ability to bridge the gap between healthcare administration, providers, and patients. Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive improvement processes that drive business operations.
