Halkes MHA is consultant to health care business development for more than 25 years. Before that, he was a lecturer at Tilburg University, the Netherlands. His areas of expertise are strategy and innovation in care for health. They include specific experiences with eHealth, telemedicine, social media and development of sustainable partnership between health constituents.

He has also in depth experience with marketing in health industry - developed and implemented new commercial market approaches customer (healthcare providers) and patient directed.
