Bio #1

Kate Reynolds (she/they) is a dorky children’s librarian who somehow became a little bit internet famous. Canadian to a fault, she hates bragging about her accomplishments. She’s known to her over 46k followers as The Lavender Librarian and is the founder and director of Storytime Solidarity where she leads a global team of volunteers who work to make the world kinder and more literate.

  • I have heard Kate speak in public several times but I find that her abilities as an organizer are what distinguish her. Kate builds institutions and makes them prosper. From her library work to her disability advocacy. Truly an amazing person.

  • Kate is one of the most amazing librarians I know - she is authentic, engaging and always looks out for those in her community! Working with Kate has been a joy! I have learned so much from her reading her posts, seeing her talks and watching her in action when she's singing and reading to others! Lately, Kate has been able to leverage her life experiences to help others and bring light where needed. Everyone needs a great librarian that's not afraid to shine - and shine she does!
