I have had a lot of success with teams when I listen and ask relevant questions. Management tend to get hyper-focused without realizing their team is what holds them up. I invent, problem solve, and roll-out solutions that address people's most pressing issues, without ignoring the human on the other side of the work. Human's need purpose, work gives people purpose and every person deserves to have challenge and autonomy. This is the key to working effectively with people.

Company Culture is More Than Free Beer

There’s nothing more wasteful as a company than to have to train and then retrain. Turnover is costly. Many companies lure people in with the free beer, but when the work culture doesn't support their talents, they end up leaving. Company culture isn’t created by the company, it’s built upon by each addition to the team. It’s a work of art where each person leaves their mark on the community canvas to make something beautiful that belongs to everyone. What I think people want is a place where their work matters. A place where they get to make decisions, build, invent, innovate, all with an amazing team at their side. People want to leave at the end of the day feeling good about what they do. Even when they make mistakes.
