Bio

Fred Chapman worked around the world for 15 years, creating digital creatures for Hollywood movies such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Thing and 4 movies in the Harry Potter series. He is the founder of Why Up Professional Development Inc, the only international company focused on developing the creative, technical and career skills of professional animation and visual effects artists, challenging restrictive paradigms and re-connecting them with the passion that first drew them to this creative industry.

I can only commend Fred. He had a steep learning curve ahead of him - which he tackled the way he tackles his snowboarding: head on! Such complex rigs (the Whomping Willow in particularly) were a daunting task for any rigger. Fred stepped up to the plate and swung a home-run. Oh - he's also a really nice guy. I'll have him on the team as a rigging TD any time!
