At the most fundamental level, we are all, always, 'in relationship to' something... First to ourselves, then to others and as an extension to our physical and social environments.
This being the case, then, starting with our own personal growth and self-awareness makes us better people, better partners and better participants in the workforce as well as members of larger communities.
For the last 21 years, no matter what topic she had been teaching or what learning she created for corporates, Melissa unwittingly (at first) interwove the same set of themes within each project—Self-Awareness, Personal Growth & Self-Mastery.
Early on, Melissa became obsessed with the interplay between these themes and the quality of people’s lives. So much so that she read everything she could get her hands—philosophy, wisdom traditions, positive psychology, experiential learning—plus earned a doctorate in Human Communication Studies and then incorporated these principles anywhere and everywhere she could—in her life, with her family and even in the more obscure areas of her work.
