Donny Dust is a United States Marine Corps Veteran who has served in combat zones as a Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence Agent and Infantrymen. During his time in the military Donny mastered his skills in Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence and left the United States Marine Corps in 2011 to teach DOD personnel all he had during his years of service.
Donny At the age of 37 had a genetics based massive heart attack that nearly ended his life. He recovery process is captured in his hit book, Scavenger: A primal approach to lifestyle change. To recover Donny left modern conveniences behind and lived in the wilds in a cave; eating wild foods, hunting game and drinking from streams. He walked out the mountains some time later more resilient and the necessary tools to help others build their resiliency.
Donny works within the tv/film industry as a technical consultant for all things related to survival and primitive survival. Donny has appeared on History Channels hit show Alone Season 6 and a new TV show that airs in springtime 2020. Donny played a character model after himself in the feature film The Big Bend produced in 2019.
Donny owns and operates Paleo Tracks Survival, Colorado’s premier survival and wilderness self-reliance school. Donny is a true practioniner of primitive technologies, bushcraft and survival. Donny has nearly two decades worth of outdoor survival skills and primitive living skills experience. His primitive living and survival experiences extend into all geographies of the world; specifically, the remote jungles of Southeast Asia, the deserts of the Middle East and the snowcapped mountains of North America. Donny can be found living in many of the remote regions of the Rocky Mountains when he is not teaching.
Donny is a published author providing his insights through publications in many mainstream survival and wilderness living magazines; also providing his insights into the survival and primitive living communities as a guest lecturer at major outdoor events, Podcasts and through radio appearances.
Donny is an expert flintknapper and primitive technologist; as his skills and knowledge are often sought out to teach professional hunters, survival instructors, wilderness guides and military personnel. As a modern day primitive hunter, gatherer and scavenger Donny employs all that he knows to hunt with the simplest of tools imaginable and truly thrive in any environment.
