This presentation shares my 3 main points: Be practical, Be self-motivated, and Be ready. I expound on those point for an average of 30 - 60 minutes. In addition, I tailor my speech to share lessons learned as well as touch on things specifically requested by the organization. Some of the things I share are financial mishaps, being homesick and being a first-generation college student.

This presentation provides parents with a tangible checklist of things to do to assist their child(ren) with preparing for post-highschool. Some things I cover are having "the talk", financial planning and building a to-do list.

The College University workshop is simulation put together with the intent is to prepare future college students for college admission and all that it entails. This workshop will expose them to all the major steps for the college entry process; simulating certain erroneous things that may occur. This workshop should teach them to listen to instructions, provide necessary information, always have a backup plan and parent involvement is integral especially in at least the entire first year. This workshop will help them practice their independence, communication skills, strategic planning and thinking on their feet.

The erroneous issues that may arise throughout the exercise will route them from start to finish or have them backtrack to fix each issue. The importance of every little detail whether it’s financial aid, missing FAFSA information or classes being full will all come up for various students. It is up to them to start and finish this workshop within the 60 allotted minutes.
