Bio

Highly sought out speaker, and founder of The Brave Initiative, Carol has been empowering audiences globally for almost a decade. She has worked with Fortune 500 companies, International Associations, and individuals, proving brave can be taught. She holds a BFA in Theatre, an MA in Communication, and two postgraduate certificates in mentoring and coaching, and is committed to building braver leaders and braver workplace cultures — so that every person can bring all of who they are to all of what they do.

As a dedicated mental health advocate, she’s also the creator of Brave Beyond Diagnosis, a community dedicated to empowering women living with a mental health illness, and the author of 'The Brave Healing Journal: A guided journey to find your brave and empower your life, one day a time.’ She speakers openly about her own journey with mental health, and has been featured in numerous magazines and podcasts, and was a returning guest expert on Rogers TV in Canada.

Carol has lived in 12 different countries, including an Ashram in India and a van in New Zealand, and brings a global perceptive to all she does. She's rocked dreadlocks in Thailand and shaved her head for breast cancer — even bungee jumped in her birthday suit — and is always striving to be braver.

When she’s not traveling or speaking on stages, you can find her teaching Pilates and yoga, out on the pickle ball court, or practicing her serious carpool karaoke game!

Get Your Brave On! Strategies to Powerfully Show, Speak Up, and Get Noticed as the Leader You Are.

What would you do if you were even braver?

Put yourself out there in a bigger way?
Speak up more powerfully?
Learn to say no?

In talking with hundreds of leaders and staff through our work at The Brave Initiative, it turns out whether you’re an entrepreneur, an Executive Director, or a frontline employee their first day on the job, everyone always has an answer.

Because the truth is, we all want to be braver.
And the good news is, brave can be taught.

/BRĀV/: Your willingness to get into action before you feel ready...  because you are choosing to feel ready enough.

Now, more than ever, it's time to learn how to step into your brave.

In this empowering & educational event, we’ll explore the big Bravery Barriers that may be holding you back, you'll gain tools to get you out of your comfort zone and into your B.R.A.V.E. Zone, and you’ll discover strategies to help increase your visibility, get into action, and achieve what you never thought possible.

It's Okay To Not Be Okay: Debunk the Myths, Learn The Tools, Shift the Conversation on Mental Health

No one likes talking about mental health. It’s stigmatized, it’s scary, and it’s anything but comfortable! It’s also very much misunderstood. And, whether you like it or not, its impact on our work and life is here to stay.

It’s time to talk about it, and to talk about it more effectively. It’s also time to recognize the signs, learn the proper tools, and create safe spaces to make it okay to not be okay.

As we navigate life post Covid, addressing mental health in the workplace is more important that ever. Studies show 80% of workers experience some type of mental health challenge - from stress to anxiety to a more serious diagnosis. And the cost to employers is an estimated thirty billion dollars.

Brave conversations surrounding mental health are no longer a nice to have, they are a need to have. The more we talk about it, the more we can create safe, supportive workplaces for everyone to thrive.
