For more than a decade, we have focused on chronic conditions and helping people with them or at risk for them. There are a lot of chronic conditions but we focus on three: type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.
We focus on these because our treatment for them is less than optimal. From a clinical perspective, we treat the symptoms of these conditions - elevated blood pressure or blood sugar - and not the cause. As a result, the conditions worsen over time.
Our objective is to address the cause. We do this with one of our lifestyle programs: The Academy or the HPI Diabetes Academy. These programs work and in the last 3 years, we've helped people eliminate over 2,000 prescription medications.
