Bio

Consultant, Trainer, and Author, Ayanna Moo-Young, is a Maryland native. As an alumnus of Bowie State University, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, and a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She also holds licensure as a practitioner and trainer through the International Institute of Restorative Practices, a service that she offers to schools, communities, families, and corporations.

For over 20 years, Ayanna has dedicated her professional career to making a difference in the lives of others. She has provided services to individuals and families who have experienced judicial, educational, and social- emotional challenges, and has worked for various agencies and educational systems across the States of Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. These experiences, along with additional entrepreneurial experiences and personal development, enabled her to pursue her dream of becoming a business owner. Therefore, in January 2015, she became the Founder and CEO at Consult Ayanna, where she provides hands-on personal and professional consulting services and training, is a motivational speaker, and an author. Her most recent publication, “The Empty Chair: Sitting with Forgiveness”, is a memoir and self-help book in which Ayanna shares her personal story and offers readers practical strategies to implement during their own journeys to forgiveness.

In addition, Ayanna recently founded a nonprofit organization, INcredible Schools, and has expanded her business, internationally, to places such as, Ghana and Bermuda. In the past, she has also been called upon to moderate important discussions on topics such as, community/police relations. In 2015, Ayanna was recognized as one of “Metro Phenomenal Women”, and in 2017 was recognized as one of Black Business Review’s “Top 40 Under 40 Entrepreneurs”. It is her belief that everyone has a purpose, and that we must understand our purpose, develop the appropriate mindset to walk in our purpose, and then, purposely walk in it!
