Antonio Green is a fourth-generation funeral director at James H. Cole Home for Funerals in Detroit, MI. His formative years at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School instilled a commitment to service in him, shaping his lifelong dedication to helping others.
Antonio has been a licensed mortician in Michigan for over 15 years. His journey began with a bachelor’s degree in communication from Bowling Green State University. Driven by his passion for supporting families during their most difficult moments, he pursued a degree at Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science before joining his family’s funeral home full-time. His innovative approach played a pivotal role in modernizing the business, culminating in the establishment of a new Northwest Detroit location, which opened in 2010 under his leadership.
That same year, Antonio married his wife, Angel, and together they have built a beautiful family with their three children: Nolan, Berkeley, and Jaxson.
In 2019, Antonio envisioned starting the James H. Cole Legacy Foundation. The foundation serves to assist marginalized communities by promoting economic growth, helping children in need, and supporting underserved schools.
In 2021, Antonio became a published author with Talk to Me: Understanding the Millennial Mindset, which provides insights into how businesses—especially small enterprises—can engage more effectively with the Millennial generation. His ability to identify strategic solutions and foster innovation continues to shape his leadership.
As AI technology transforms industries, Antonio has become a key advocate for integrating artificial intelligence into the death care profession. He is leading the exploration of AI-driven advancements, assisting funeral businesses in modernizing while upholding their core values.
Committed to supporting family-owned businesses, Antonio uses his expertise to help companies scale, adapt, and thrive in a changing landscape. In addition to serving the funeral home business, Antonio is President of the Horizon House and Vice President of the West Grand Blvd Collaborative board of directors, as well as serving on the board for Doing Development Differently in Detroit (D4).
