I have graduated from the Kaunas University of Technology. Studies went okay, but I was an average student. Then followed an internship in game development, which didn't go well (it was unpaid and it took longer than it should have).
The job that followed changed everything. Not the job itself, but the people in it. There I worked as a support developer- solo taking care of several projects- being a one man's army. Here I met a senior programmer, who directed me to read the book Clean Code. Reading that book lead me to think about programming entirely different- to focus on the people.
At that work, I started mentoring people, doing internal training on Clean Code. Eventually, I realised I want to always have an opportunity for teaching and mentoring- so I have to create a programming community called C# Inn. There, people help each other out with any kind of questions or simply exchange their experiences.
In the last year, I have been exposed to Liberating Structures- ways of organizing meetings in fun, creative ways involving every participant equally.
