Dr. Rich Patterson

Dr. Rich Patterson is currently a certified member of the John Maxwell Team where he works with kids, parents and families as a Keynote Speaker and Executive Coach. Additionally, he is a Faculty member for The University of Phoenix where he teaches Teacher Education and School Administration classes, as well as classes in the Humanities.

He is an educator with over 40 years’ experience as a teacher, and school administrator working in Minnesota, Iowa, and Colorado. He has served as a high school administrator, middle school principal, and an alternative school administrator. His passion is kids, parents and families and enjoys speaking about and sharing mental models that help everyone to understand better how all of this life stuff fits into the big picture.

On July 1, 2016 Rich received the national award of the Edwin Franko Goldman Award for outstanding contributions to the advancement of school bands from the American School Band Directors Association. He is a professional musician having performed across the country and Europe with various types of performing groups.

When he can be outside, he does so enjoying hiking, canoeing, fishing, and snowmobiling. He has done forest mitigation work for over 15 years which he says helps to keep him in shape and has put him in trouble more than once.
