Bio

Professor & Speaker | Researcher & Author | Leadership Consultant | Gender Diversity Expert

Bachelor degree in Economics, MSc in Marketing, and PhD in Management at ISEG Lisbon School of Economics & Management, with a Doctoral Grant from FCT (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology). She is currently a researcher of leadership studies in the Work and Employment group at the Centre of Research in Social Sciences and Management (CSG), and professor of marketing at NOVA IMS. Her research interests are in the areas of leadership, women in leadership, business ethics and corporate sustainability.

She has been a guest speaker on leadership and gender diversity in several universities (ISEG, AESE, and Vilnius University), and organizations sponsoring research in this topic (TIAW, EWMD, ECWT, and EIGE). Her first book Transformational Leadership: Toward a Strategy of Corporate Social Responsibility was published in 2010, and she has authored and co-authored other publications in academic journals and conference proceedings. She has been supervising MSc thesis on both women in entrepreneurship and leadership, and reviewing articles submitted to the track of Organizational Behaviour, Gender Studies, and Entrepreneurship at EURAM and ILA Conferences.

She has been a coordinator and facilitator in leadership training for women in organizations promoting gender equality (EWMD, TIAW, and LeadWomen/ICAEW). She is an expert in gender diversity and has participated in the working group for the Women on Boards EU initiative, and as an advisor for the 30% Women on Boards policy of the Malaysian government. She is an effective member of the Portuguese Association of Economists, member of the Advisory Board of WomenWinWin, and member of several international organizations, such as ECWT, TIAW, and ILA.
