Amel Khalil is an Arab American Actress. A proud product of Paterson, NJ, Amel is known for her work in Theater and TV/Film. Her most recent credits include an appearance on The Enemy Within (NBC), Tommy (CBS), Lincoln ((NBC) and FBI (CBS). Advocacy and leadership roles are as important off screen for her, as they are on screen. As an advocate for survivors of Domestic Violence with an emphasis on the Middle Eastern/Muslim community, Amel works in Passaic County, NJ assisting low-to-no income families start over and rebuild after the pain of international, and/or domestic, violence.
Additionally, Amel is an advocate of influencing a positive perception of Arab Americans in all aspects of media, through her writing, and roles. Amel has interviewed with Cosmopolitan for a Misconceptions of Muslims segment and promotes awareness by giving presentations on Cultural Sensitivity and awareness of the Muslim/Middle Eastern population to interested organizations, Child Protective Services and Law Enforcement to better understand and serve this marginalized and underserved community.
