Dr. Larry C. Woods

Born in St. Louis, Mo., but grew up in Southeast Asia (from 15 to 22 yrs. old), High School drop-out who, with a G.E.D. and a C.L.E.P. certificate received degrees in biology, psychology (with honors in science- Webster University), nursing (RN from St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing), medicine, (M.D. from University Of Kentucky School of Medicine-Lexington, Ky.); music, (A.A.-from Community Association of Schools of the Arts- St. Louis); and an Internship and Residency in Family Practice from Howard University Hospital- Washington, D.C.

After briefly serving as trouble shooting physician for The National Health Care Plan of Washington D.C., he was appointed Medical Director at Intercounty Health Medical Systems of Martinsburg, West Virginia. After a time there he spent the next 4 years as Medical Director for Sicily Island Medical Center of Sicily Island, Louisiana, and Bienville Parrish Hospital, Arcadia, Louisiana.

Dr. Woods was a consultant to Grambling University and Vice President of the State of Louisiana's Primary Care Services where he served as the State of Louisiana's representative to the Congressional "Meese Commission" on evaluating and reorganizing our country's health care system; before moving to Cleveland and starting Prometheus of Ohio Inc., his health education company.

He continued his journey into the realm of education in 2001 when an article in the Cleveland, “Plain Dealer”, brought out the fact that Cleveland Metropolitan School District, (CMSD) was hiring several hundred teachers from India to teach math and science.

He thought that he should be helping fill the needed science education gap, so he joined E=MC2, which was a pilot program to fill needed vacancies in CMSD. Dr. Woods is now attempting his second Masters in Education at CSU.
