Someone once asked me to describe my childhood. Without even blinking I said, “Cosby Style”.

We went on vacations every year, my mom not only had a Masters degree, but was an administrator for a hospital system. My dad not only owned his own successful business but was encouraging me constantly to open mine.

We were a young black family living in Detroit and were at annual black tie balls, golf club events, and fish frys.
