Brandon Wright

Raised on a rice farm in the Arkansas Delta I know a little about hard work and sacrifice. Reared by my grandparents until I was 10 years old, then I moved to stay with my mother, stepfather, and four other siblings in KCMO. Talk about change. I went to an inner-city school until I was in the 11th grade. Then I moved again. This time it was to leave with my father, stepmother, and two younger brothers. Back to the country I go! After completing my senior, I was offered a scholarship to play football.

Going to college I majored in business. I figured if I was going to the NFL I needed to be able to manage my money and market myself. Suffering a concussion the knock me out for three hours my sophomore year, I decided I was going to be the hammer and not the nail. After, completion of my fours years in college I entered the NFL draft and went to seven different tryouts. I tried out for all 32 NFL teams. Then the 2011 NFL lockout hit. I was unsigned and miserable.

I was forced to transition. I would always ask myself, "Who are your outside of that jersey?" I completed my master's degree and found inspiration in career development. This work motivates me because people are in the process of self-discovery something I can relate to on a personal level. I know what it is like when plan A doesn't work out. I know the importance of having multiple plans and staying open minded.

All that to say, I'm here to help others accomplish their goals.
