Karlene Millwood is passionate about Women's Empowerment and continues to inspire women through her writing and speaking. A talented speaker, she has graciously hosted several concerts, talk shows, plays, dinners and banquets.
Karlene is a versatile writer who has had pieces of her poetry published by the Poetry of Resistance movement in their 2011 Anthology of Poems. In 2013 she was privileged to share her poetry on Power 106 FM radio in Jamaica on their Young Power program that has thousands of listeners worldwide.
She is an award-winning author, philanthropist and business owner, who received an Award of Recognition in 2013 as a result of establishing a scholarship for a school in the Caribbean, and the resultant benefits for the students who receive it. In addition, Karlene was also a 2014 nominee for the Ontario Women in Law Enforcement (OWLE) Community Service Award for her work in arts and entertainment. She was also selected in 2016 and 2017 to be among the Top 150 nominees to receive a Black Canadian (Business) Award.
