Nothing has been as important to Ada than making sure women and young girls just like her understand that they have an opportunity to be better than the circumstances that they came from. Ada is the Executive Director of Something About Sistahs, Inc. an organization that helps women to find their "WHY" through several programs including her most popular program Prisoners Heart, which helps to recognize, release and revive from generational curse damage.
After 20 years of being in banking and the financial industry working her way up from the bottom to Vice President, Ada looked out the door of her office and decided there were more people on the outside who needed her to serve in a larger capacity through healing hearts from generational curses. Ada has been in the community working for over 10 years to serve and speak at different organizations, churches and events in any capacity but it was only part time. She wanted to make a change on a larger scale and started her nonprofit in 2014. While working she found that there is an increased use of medication and misdiagnoses of youth and young adults and their only illness is a lack of love and attention. What she found is that their parents couldn't provide what even they didn't have. How did she know? Ada was that girl, abused for years in her younger age, sexually, physically and mentally. Mother of 2 daughters by the age of 15, Ada attempted suicide while pregnant with her second child. It wasn't until she woke up and realized that she was still there that she begin to find her strength and begin to fight for her life. Ada tells the chilling story of being "That Girl" and what her breaking point was. She also is the published author of 3 books, founder of My Sistahs Closet and sits on the board of other nonprofit organizations that help to support women and their healing and growth.
