Lexi Steele is a young public speaker who was born and raised in Montana. At a very young age Lexi found her passion to be athletics and knew that was the path she wanted to take. All throughout her life she was faced with hardships, just like any normal human, she continued to put a smile on her face anywhere she went. Her parents got a divorce, mom went through a heart transplant, she battled abuse, and also feeling uncomfortable in her own skin.
As she left for college she found herself, she was still involved in college athletics, signed to play two sports but during a training sessions something didn't feel right in her chest. She stopped and decided that the rest of her life was more important than 4 years. After deciding this she wanted to submerge herself in her studies while also helping local athletes. Towards her senior year she was looking at going back to playing sports for grad school, just to fill that itch she was having to play and she was finally feeling back to her normal self, when she suddenly got sick. For the next 14 months lexi went through trial and error with world renown doctors at the Mayo Clinic came to the conclusion that the autonomic nervous system had failed, she went from being a top tier athlete to learning how to swallow and walk again. Through her dark times, she also found she didn't want to hide who she was anymore, recently she has came out to her closest family and friends about being bi and how the stress and anxiety of being the perfect female was weighing on her. It took her laying in a hospital bed to realize she wanted to be a voice for people who were struggling.
Whether that is with coping with a divorce, being pushed to a point as an athlete of perfectionism, or being true to who you really are, Lexi has a story for it.
Life is all about being happy and finding your happiness. Lexi understood the moment she felt better, she had stories to share and she wanted to make a difference in women's rights, athletes, patients struggling with dysautonomia, just anyone. She is young but she is motivated to help those around her.
