Adam Adler’s career is marked by a steady progression through fields that require discipline, adaptability, and long-term thinking. Now based in Charleston, he works as an entrepreneur and investor and serves as the founder of The Adler Fund, a private equity group investing in sustainable development, real estate, technology, and high-growth startups. His path brings together experiences from athletics, early digital ventures, biotechnology, and strategic investing, all of which contribute to the approach he carries today.
Adam’s introduction to structure and resilience began on the tennis court. He trained at the Rick Macci Tennis Academy in South Florida, where the environment emphasized repetition, accountability, and continuous improvement. His commitment to the sport earned him a tennis scholarship to the University of South Carolina. While competing as a student-athlete, he completed a double major in Sports & Entertainment Management and Business and graduated with honors in 2007. The discipline required to balance high-level athletics with academics played a significant role in shaping his work ethic.
His entrepreneurial foundation was formed early during his college years. While at USC, Adam co-founded Ultimate Social Networking Inc. and Ultimate College Model, the first digitally native modeling network. These projects introduced him to product development, user engagement, and the fast adjustments needed when working with technology-driven platforms. This early exposure helped him understand the power of innovation and prepared him for the industries he would tackle next.
After graduating, Adam moved into the biotech sector. He assembled a team of molecular scientists, including several former biochemists from Merck and Amgen, to create Fuse Science. The company built a 30k sq. ft. FDA- and cGMP-certified facility in Oxnard, California, that served as its headquarters and lab. As CEO, he oversaw the development of a nutrient delivery system that used sublingual, buccal, and transdermal absorption, allowing nutrients to bypass the digestive process for faster uptake than capsules. During the company’s early stages, he self-funded operations, secured crucial intellectual property, and recruited executives with experience from Fortune 25 companies. He expanded the brand's reach through partnerships with high-profile athletes, including Tiger Woods, Andy Murray, David Ortiz, Jose Bautista, Tyson Chandler, Paul Pierce, Andre Ward, and Paul Rodriguez. With support from Daymond John, Fuse Science grew significantly, increasing its valuation from roughly $500k to more than $100M.
Parallel to his entrepreneurial work, Adam built a strong presence in professional poker. He has reached multiple final tables at World Series of Poker events and earned repeated deep runs in major World Poker Tour tournaments.
