I don't have a bunch of fancy degrees and titles. I have a lot of amazing moments and experiences both good, bad, terrible, terrifying, heart breaking, unreal even, that have lead me to here. I am a 40 year old entrepreneur. That is a statement that 7 years ago if you would have told me that I would have laughed at you.
About 8 years ago, I put my money where my mouth was to do the self work and hard work to get myself out of my terrible life to try and start over. I had just put my mother to rest after she passed from a long bout with cancer. I was her caretaker for the couple years prior to her passing. At the same time I was balancing taking care of my son (step son technically but I was his mom) and trying to keep us homed, clothed, feed and safe living with my husband who was an addict. Which made a lot of that difficult. This wasn't anything that was new, it had been like this for awhile on and off. But the addiction evolved into narcotics and once my mom passed, was a situation that was needing to be dealt with for everyone's safety. I had ben practicing yoga through the last part of my mother life, and decide to lean in and become a teacher. Adding those new skills helped me make some big life changes. I packed all my things in my vehicle and left, unfortunately alone, it was the scariest thing I had to do. I didn't know what was next. But I found out... it was the rest of my life. After cleaning up a lot of messes, my house was raided after I left, my husband was arrested, my son went to my husband's mother, my house was constantly being broken into, and eventually it ended up burning down with the rest of my things inside. But with the practice of teachings of yoga, lessons my mother taught me in her short well lived life, I am here. I left an abusive relationship, I started teaching yoga full time, I have been able to navigate healthy relationships, I opened my first yoga studio in the end 2018 and my second, I started my second business because of the pandemic, Authentic Yoga Retreats, and during the pandemic at the end of 2021 I opened my second studio.
