William Davis

I was able to listen in on one of the sessions that William had at the NLC for FBLA. His speech was fantastic, from right when I walked in he greeted me and we had a great conversation which was a great way to start the 45 minute speech! There were many key points that I took away from his Leadership Blueprint speech. One main one that stuck out to me was actually his first point Build "REAL" Relationships, you must want to be a leader, it is a full time job in itself. One of the stories that he told was about how he took himself down to his employees level right away and tried to make it seem like he was less of a boss and more of a leader for the new employee. He asked him what he likes to do, and ended up going out golfing with him and by the third hole, he loosened up a little bit and made his work life more enjoyable and made the employee more open in the end. I don't think that most bosses do this and this is the type of boss or leader that is more needed and William seems to fit that pretty well. He definatly knows what he was talking about, has lived what he preaches, and provides great real life examples during his speech which makes him even more engaging and credible during his speech! Overall it was a fantastic speech and would defiantly go to another one of his speeches, it was very engaging and defiantly did not feel like a 45 minute speech!
