Bio

Sidrah Hassan is a passionate AI Ethicist on a mission to shape technology for the greater good. With a background spanning across user research and product management Sidrah is dedicated to championing ethical design and implementation as well as Ethical AI literacy. Experienced in AI Governance, AI Literacy, leading Ethical AI Chatbot development and creating her own AI Ethics Toolkit for Product teams. Beyond her role as an AI Ethics Consultant, Sidrah also creates social media content for the BBC Scotland, shedding light on both the benefits and risks of AI. Through her work, she inspires others to envision a future where AI uplifts humanity and does not hinder it.

How to Build Algorithmic Justice

Exploring why there is an urgent need for fairness and equity in AI systems. Explaining how biases in algorithms can exacerbate social injustices and inequality, particularly affecting marginalised communities. Discussing practical frameworks for developing algorithms that prioritise ethical considerations and inclusivity. Ultimately, inspiring product leaders and designers towards creating algorithms that not only serve the majority but also uplift the voices and needs of the minority.
