Bio

Ryan is a leading expert in generative AI for music. He is the co-founder and CTO of Infinite Album, where they have built a generative composer for gaming and livestreaming. He is also the director of the AI Song Contest Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to the co-creation of music with human artists and AI.

Ryan has lectured at Stanford, Harvard, MIT and Berklee College of music, has organized and moderated 8 panels at SXSW and was recently interviewed by Bloomberg.

How AI will impact the music industry

The innovations brought by generative AI will have far-reaching effects on the artistic space, and music is no exception. 2023 finally brought text prompting to the music space. However, these models were trained on large datasets of copyrighted music - often without consent of the artists being trained on. Nevertheless, the opportunities for new methods of music consumption and for artists to interact in a more meaningful way with their fans are plentiful with the help of AI.
