Sandeep Shekhawat is a resident of San Francisco, CA and currently serves as the Director of Engineering at Walmart Labs. With a total of 15 years of experience in the industry, Sandeep has previously worked with Meta/ WhatsApp, Apple, and Yahoo. He completed his Masters in Computer Science from Cornell University and has expertise in the area of applied enterprise Internet of Things, specifically in Smart Retail. During his time at Apple, Sandeep applied his knowledge of IoT to build and scale applications for millions of devices. He played a pivotal role in architecting a solution that enabled devices in stores and small businesses worldwide to fetch critical pricing data and SKU content updates over the air with super low latency. This solution not only helped save millions of dollars for Apple but also significantly improved store productivity, especially during holiday times when there is a significant increase in foot traffic.
