Yvette Latunde

Dr. Yvette Latunde is passionate about using her work to replenish, affirm, and encourage. Dr. Latunde has come to know leadership and family engagement through empirical studies, research, and "other ways of knowing" connected to Black epistemologies. Her goal is to center the abundance within individuals, families, and communities in problem-solving.

Dr. Latunde has supported county offices of education, faith-based organizations, school districts, and non-profits in optimizing their resources to create new pathways to support the genius of diverse (race and neurodivergence) people. She accomplishes this by prioritizing safety and trust in her work.

Dr. Latunde has published on leadership, thriving, and family engagement with education. She is the author of Equitable by Design, Research in Parental Involvement, and numerous peer-reviewed articles. She is the creator of Black Family Advisory Councils & African American Family Advisory Councils w/Dr. Yvette C. Latunde. Her areas of expertise include Black Family Engagement with schools, Black student achievement, Neurodiversity, and women leaders.

Dr. Latunde is a yogi, avid walker, and explorer.
