  • We invited Loki to speak to our law firm about his film "The Uncomfortable Truth" as part of our of Black History month series on race and social justice. The one hour presentation brilliantly combined facts of American history and its impact on people of color, current events, and a well thought out dialogue about parts of the film. Loki invited his mother, civil rights hero, Joan Trumpauer Mulholland, to join so that she could add a layer of personal experience to the conversation. They weaved together a powerful story of how individuals can help combat racism in American. The presentation was educational and enlightening, and we all walked away with actionable steps we can take to make our country and world a better place. Loki and Joan are wonderful examples of how changed hearts can change minds. If you are looking for a way to start a dialogue about race and social justice at your organization, Loki will walk you through his thoughts and approach so that you can deliver a message that is meaningful and will have an impact.

  • I have spent the last five years working with Loki Mulholland and have found it to be some of the most productive, instructive work I have been involved in to date. Loki makes critical information accessible, resulting in increased discussion and analysis about issues of race, gender and civil rights. His ability to toggle between audiences of children and adults, educators or business leaders and everyone within or outside of those groups, is phenomenal. Loki is truly able and willing to meet people where they are through film, discussion and engagement and help them see what they have been missing in his presentations, workshops and keynotes. Each time I have been able to engage his efforts, the audience wants more. And thankfully, Loki is willing to come back!

  • I invited Loki to speak at the University of Utah on two occasions. I can certainly say that I got much more than I expected. Loki is well read, well informed, well experienced, and an incredibly empathetic and sympathetic listener of the souls and experiences of people from the Civil Rights era and their decedents. His ability to tell these meaningful stories on film is remarkable and the sign of an accomplished cinematographer. I am not surprised by the number of Emmy Awards that he has received; he deserves them. When he lectures on these episodes of US history, it sounds as if he was there. Loki can handle an audience from kindergartners to graduate students and professors and feel totally comfortable in any of those settings. I highly recommend Loki to any group, organization, school, or university. He will not disappoint you.

  • I helped to arrange an event for Black History month that was scheduled at my university for February 18th, 2020. There were two parts to the event and Mr. Mulholland was key to the event's success. We had a showing of his documentary "After Selma", and a discussion afterwards with Mr. Mulholland and Selma activist JoAnn Bland. Mr. Mulholland did everything he could to make the event run smoothly. He was fast to reply to emails, generous in giving us the right to show the documentary, and at the event he was informed, charming and totally engaging. The audience was captivated by the whole evening. My experience working with Mr. Mulholland on this event has encouraged me to think about doing something involving him and one of his films for next year's Black History month. • Much love and respect to Loki Mulholland, the perfect featured guest to kick off our Embracing Differences speaker series. Loki is a real one, authentic and open about his incredible origin story, his career as an Emmy-award winning filmmaker, and his continued thirst for knowledge. He shared with our students and the greater OLASTEO community how to better "do the right thing, because it is the right thing to do" and to have challenging conversations where we "talk less and listen more." Loki went into depth about how young people can best create social impact and that for them, "it's all possible." We could not have asked for a more profound, relevant, and soothing speaker during these turbulent times. Thank you, Loki! Embracing Differences w/ Loki Mulholland (Compilation Video) -

  • I have to pleasure of working with the filmmaker Loki Mullholland when he visited the University of Memphis. Loki was a guest on campus, showing his award-winning film, "The Uncomfortable Truth," during Black History Month. During the Q&A, Loki engaged students and answered numerous questions about his work as a social documentarian. In the after-action report, students had only positive statements about his presentation. I was grateful that Loki took time out of his busy schedule to educate and inspire the audience. I highly recommend Loki as a speaker at colleges and universities. You will not be disappointed.

  • Our school district recently had the honor to have Mr. Loki Mulholland as guest presenter at our January 2021 speaker series event recognizing Civil Rights month. The presentation was outstanding as I received many compliments from our school district community about the message that was given by Mr. Mulholland. The knowledge that was shared and how it was explained to an audience that didn't have a great knowledge about the Civil Rights movement was outstanding! The response to questions from the participants was given in a kind and respectful way that really added to the whole presentation and to their message of love and respect to others. It was a wonderful evening and I recommend Mr. Loki Mulholland to any school district in the country and audience. (Parents, Students, Community Members) Thank you!

  • As part of our Black History month programming, Loki met with our retired teachers group to share After Selma, his exceptional film about voter suppression. In a Zoom meeting Loki and the group engaged in an informative Q & A session where he expanded on the issues around voter suppression and systemic racism. Of great interest to the group was his sharing of specific incidents and relationships developed in the making of the film. He was also forthcoming in the sharing of situations with threatening overtones that he has experienced during his career as a filmmaker. Loki is knowledgeable about Civil Rights history and talked easily with great insight and clarity with the group members. The group eagerly looks forward to his future films and upcoming book and an opportunity to have him visit with us in the future to discuss them.
